Hi,
Will a Wireless Router/Modem having 802.11G Technology accept Clients [PC or Laptop] having 802.11.N card ?
I have Dell Inspire 1525 Laptop with Dell 1505 Mini-N card [802.11.N], iam unable to acess INTERNET with the router we have, which is 802.11G.
Any Clue ?
Thank you,
-
Most Draft N cards will at least downgrade signal wise to the previous G standard if not B as well. I would recommend trying to the following to fix your problem:
1) Make sure you have the most up to date Drivers for the Dell 1505 Mini-N card
2) Clear out previous attempts to log in to your router
3) Reset your router to defaults
4) Try connecting again

fwiw--if it is a 802.11g router with some sort of proprietary boosting scheme, see if you can disable that. Many companies had special features where if you had thier router and their wireless card with "super speedboost" technology to achieve 108mbps!
These proprietary schemes can cause grief for standard clients. Just ran into a big headache with such a router and a Apple os x computer. Turned off the special features and all the problems went away -
Will Router 802.11.B,G accept 802.11N Client ?
