I have a M1730 with Intel 4965 wifi card. I am connected to my hom 54 mbps with 8mbps of Internet speed. Everytime I download or surf or do anything, its very slow. I checked for all the viruses and spywares and its free of it as I have Kaspersky Total Security 2009. I tried reinstaling the drivers. When I start the download,it boostst speed of downloading file with 1mb second and slows down to 85-100 kbps. Whats going on? I have no idea. Plz help with that as for my friends laptop, its rocket fast.

    :(

Have you run a speed test?

    Plug into the router

Could be a local thing (re wiring, happens to me)

you should test what speeds you are getting w/o Kaspersky on. if its different then it could be a configuration issue in Kaspersky.

what speeds are you getting when plugged in via RJ45?

Ya I got it solved. It was freaking kaspersky. If I turn it on,speed reduces, great security and when I turn it off, great speed, low security. Dont know what to choose??

I have the same Kaspersky version as you and I'm not experiencing any issues when downloading. Go back and check your settings. I would start looking in the Firewall settings.

check network packets in Firewall Settings. Check to see if something is turned off or not allowed. This is where you would go also to allow other computers within your network to access your computer. Just for future reference.

make sure you updated your Kaspersky to the lastest version. Just run update.
