I'm located in mexico. I'm from the US. I have my own internet and the modem/router.

    1. Can someone tell me how i can change my password for my wifi? My modem acts as a router and is called Arris. They are supplied by the internet company here. Also im curious but who can change the password on a wifi connection? For example let say someone i give my password to the wifi to someone i know. Can they change the password for my wifi? Thus let say they decide to change my wifi password, can they? I assume if yes, the way to fix this would be to reset my modem/router which acts as one... and then change my settings?

    2. Another question I have is... is it possible for my wifi network to not show up to other people? For example, when i check for wifi connections where im located, i see many different wifi networks and most of these are secured. I almost always connect to my own wifi. Is there a way to prevent others from seeing my wifi network connection or this isn't possible?

    3. How do i change the name of my network? My password is the default given by my ISP.

Back in the US, I recalled it was easy to change the password for wifi and name of the network. But here, im not very sure so i don't want to try in case i mess something up.

    1. Check the user manual for default login/password. If those do not work, you might need to check with your ISP - sometimes these are changed.
Giving someone a Wi-Fi passphrase does not enable them to change it - they needs a logon and password to the router. That said if you leave it as default, then they can simply login and change it at will (which is why you should not)

    2. Network can be set to invisible (hidden SSID) in router settings.

    3. Same thing - SSID can be changes in the router settings.

Basically you need to login in to the router using either a default password (find a user manual for the router) or if the former does not work - you need to obtain it from your ISP. Once logged in to the config website of the router, you can change all of the above.
