I'm on my inspiron 1520 with vista home premium. Sometimes while i'm browsing online the internet stops working and when i click refresh it doesnt work, but the icon on the bottom says i'm still connected. When i'm signed on to AIM and this happens I can still IM people. I tried other browsers like IE and safari all have the same problem.
When I restart the comp the problem goes away, but then comes back.

The other problem is that when I'm browsing and click a link or go to a new page it says cannot load page, but when I click refresh it works it keeps on doing this repetedly everytime i go to a new page so i have to refresh every time i go to a new page. I use firefox as my main browser, but sometimes use IE and safari. I'm thinking its a vista problem?

A few things to look at.

    1. the MTU setting on the router, may need to be lowered to 1492, def 1500.

    2. Check your energy management settings. Make sure it is not lowering the power or turning it off. Under the Power Management and Port adv properties.

Do you routinely run checkups on your computer? Do you run antivirus, antispyware, and antitrojan applications? Do you run scans at least weekly? Have you run a registry repair tool?
