    Hi,

I have a Sony VPCSA laptop which has Intel 6230 as its wireless adapter. I am experiencing this issue that the WiFi gets disconnected all of a sudden and automatically reconnects after 1-2min (or I disconnect and reconnect it myself). And it keeps doing that every 5-10 mins. I searched the net for a solution and did not succeed in overcoming the problem. Specifically here is what I tried so far:

    1. disabling/re-enabling network adapter
    2. uninstalling and reinstalling network adapter (i installed the latest intel driver)
    3. scanning my computer for viruses
    4. Disabling IEEE 802.1X authentication

One thing is that, it is probably not caused by the wifi router etc. as other notebooks work just fine. Another thing is that I am not having this issue with my home wifi network. One thing that is different between my home network and the one I am trying to connect is that my home one has a password whereas this one does not require a password. Could the problem be related to this?

Do you have any suggestion on how to resolve this issue, as it is starting to become very annoying..

    Thanks a lot!

    Thanks.

What is the brand and model of the problem router? Does moving the computer close to and in the same room as the router make any improvement?

I think the router is "Meru Networks AP 300 SERIES". It is only a few feet away from me so it shouldn't be a signal issue.
