My router is TrendnetTEW-450, notebook is Asus M50Vn with Intel 5100 card. With cable I got 70mbps speed. With wireless always ~max16mbps.
I tested speed when PC was very near router. I use WPA and mac filtering, but tried without protection and speed was almost the same. I tested with other Fujitsu-siemens notebook which wireless card is Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG and speed was max ~26mbps but not more. Somehow speed is limited, does anyone has suggestions how to solve this problem? How to make some configuration and increase wireless speed?

Are you living in an environmnet with many sources of EM pollution? Things like high tension wires, nearby radio/TV stations, other wireless routers, microwave ovens, etc can contribute to problems with connecting/speed. Have you tried switching the wireless channel?

In that place (or near) there is router there are no EM sources which could have influence. What do you mean channels? 6 wireless channels are set in router.

You can switch the channel in the routers settings to another that may have less interference.

First, try using ordinary spelling - if you want other peoples' help, you have to ask in a way that the rest of us can understand. As far as I'm concerned, "sum1" is the name of the first summing variable I use in scripting and coding, not some "cool" slang.

On to the gist of your question - why are you getting slow speeds when you "copy" - i.e., download - something? Most likely because that's as fast as the server on the other end can serve up the file you're trying to copy/download.

really? ur comparing english to that?

U really don't need to be a genius to understand what sum1 means. I guess some people lack common sense..

Those who come hat-in-hand asking for help are not in the most authoritative of positions.
