What is the point of getting a high speed wireless router when the internet is never going to download as fast?

i.e. if I have 2mb or even 8mb broadband, then what advantage would there be in surfing or online gaming speed if i got a g+ or n router instead of the standard g given that g gives 54mbps?

^^ That is ISP prerogative, if you have a fast and stable line, you are set.

    cheers ...
