    This is what I have:

Dell Inspiron 1501 w/ AMD Turion 64 TL-60, 1GB DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz, ATI RADEON Xpress1150 256MB HyperMemory, 80GB SATA Hard Drive, Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem, Dell Wireless 1490 802.11a/g Mini Card (54Mbps), Windows Vista Home Basic, Bellsouth DSL Ultra, and a 2500sqft house with wood&plaster walls.

I will be using it to surf the web, listen to music, watch shows on NBC/ABC.com, and chat.

I want something with a good range that isn't going to flake out on me. There will be 2 computers sharing it at times. But it definitely needs to be under $100 and if I could find it under $50 I would be ecstatic!

You have a Wireless a/g card so you'll need a Wireless G Router. Any one of these would work. I would recommend this one which I have and works well; this is the updated version of it.

Take a look at smallnetbuilder.com site. They have a router table where you can compair features and performance. But stay away from Belkin if you want a good experience and reliabality. Belkin test good but just do not hold up and cause constant problems. It may take many units to get good one, not worth the hassels.

Since you've got Wireless G, I'd look into the Linksys WRT54G2. However, if you want to be a little daring, you can pick up a WRT54GL and put DD-WRT on it and up the power :)
