I just bought a new laptop and I got it with the Intel 4965AGN Wireless-N Mini Card. What is the best router for this card? I've owned linksys routers in the past, but I know there are more brands out there, so I'm just looking for some extra input. Thanks in advance for some responses.

FYI - I may be interested in getting something similar to the Linksys Media Center Extender at some point to broadcast stuff into my TV. Linksys recommends getting the dual-band wireless N router if you want to run the media center extender... what is dual band and do i really need to get the top of the line router if I want to do this?

Linksys or Apple is probably the best. I just returned my Netgear WNR3500 after barely one month for constantly dropping connections; randomly if just surfing, chronically and regularily (after like a few minutes) when putting it under load by, say, torrenting.

I know have a D-link DIR-655, and so far it seems good. But I haven't had it connected for more than half an hour.

Just out of curiosity why would you recommend Linksys or Apple when you bought another product? Is it a big price difference or something?

Netgear with MIMO is good and reliable.

Faba, I'm surprised to see you had problems with WNR3500,, that's an excellent router.

That's terrible, my experience was excellent and I did not hear others complaining, thank you for your feedback, really appreciate it. Could it be because you are in Sweden? Could it be something to do with the WiFi channels?

Actually, We use more wifi-channels than in USA. I tried with 3 different laptops, three wifi-chipsets, three OS's. Latest Firmware.

D-link DIR-655. Ran a torrent I that was large and I knew I got high speeds on, just to test it. Worked like a charm. Better range too. Not as pretty though.

D-Link DIR-655. Its one of the most advanced routers out there. I have it for a year probably and its great.
