Hi! I am from Brazil and it's really hard to find some components, including Killer wireless adapters.

Any idea where I can buy one? I have a DV6z-6100 similar notebook and by installing a mod BIOS I know I can run Killer 1102 without problems. Killer 1202 apparently won't work due to bluetooth incompatibility.

Baii suggested also to get the generic version(atheros 9382/AR5BHB116) and I can find easily on ebay. In fact, I am even thinking about buying this one, even though is generic. The BCM 4313 that came with my notebook has a poor reception and is just 1x1.

    Thks.

Don't call an Atheros a generic card like it's somehow worse - Killer is an Atheros with an expensive sticker for people who can't understand the concept of money.

Please, I didn't mean to. I just quoted exactly how I was told. I don't mind the Atheros one, really, I know exactly what you mean. I live in a country where a pair of jeans costs 20 dollars, and the same one with a Levi's sticker costs almost 100 dollars ( and I am not exagerating about the price!!).

I am 120% compelled about buying the Atheros one since it costs a third of the Killer one. But, since the 1102 was recommended, I don't mind asking to know if there is a place where I can buy or at least compare prices.

I was just kidding- should have added an emoticon :D
Atheros made a great card and and Killer added a nice looking sticker.

Baii was spot on with his recommendation. I would buy an Atheros (well actually I would buy an Intel but...) rather than a Killer.

Sorry for the joke that didn't work.

Don´t worry. I understood what you perfectly!! And you helped me anyway, because now are two saying that the "generic" Atheros is a good choice. In fact I just bought it on ebay!!

Just to make something 100% clear here. Atheros is the company that makes all the "Killer" products. They bought out the original company a little while ago.

Good point- I forgot about that. Qualcomm bought Atheros and later on they bought Bigfoot Inc.
