    Whats the best long range router i can get for $30?
    I dont care about the speed, as long as its over 1Mbit/s I need it to be stable
    a b or g networks

    Dunno about $30, but the way to get long range is to upgrade the antenna(s). You can find 9dBi "rubber duck" antennas on eBay for fairly cheap. Make sure you get the right connector type for your router. Ideally I'd recommend a Linksys WRT54GL (note the L) paired with those upgraded antennas but that'd total close to $100.

    I don't even know if you can get a router for $30, much less one with long range. What you'll want to do no matter what one you go with is to switch it to 802.11b mode only. That'll get you better range than 802.11g, at the cost of speed.

    I'm pretty sure that 802.11g has better range than b.

    Secondly i agree with pittabread it will be difficult to find a router for $30. i think ur best bet for getting a router is second hand on ebay. also 40meters indoors!!!! ud be pushing that with the best routers. (unless your talking open space) - otherwise you won't get that i'm afraid.
