So I'm looking to configure a laptop and I was wondering what the difference is between the IntelĀ® 3945 802.11a/g Mini-card and the Dell Wireless 1390 802.11g Mini-Card. Is it worth the 25 bucks to upgrade to the Intel card?

Yes. There are a few posts about the 3945 vs the 1390 that say the same thing, especially for compatibility with different routers and available drivers for different operating systems.

I am using the Intel and not Dell in my laptop M1330 XPS.
25$ more I would just go for the Dell and later buy the Intel online you should pick one up less the 25 bills.
