Someday I would like to have internet everywhere I go with my netbook.. but it seems things are only from phone companies with really expensive plans and low bandwidth per month.. what do you all suggest?

Will it ever go down in price?

Yes, with time technology gets better, and the towers that have been built will have been paid off reducing costs and thus allowing prices to be reduced.

Don't expect much in the next few years though, we're at least many years away from 'cheap' cellular internet in the US.
