    Howdy y'all!
I need to purchase a broadband modem and wireless-N router for my new laptop. Any specific units I should consider?
    Thank you!

Have you spent any time reading the numerous router and modem posts? You should be able to get a lot of information that way.

Given that I see mostly D-link router and Intel NIC posts here, I might not advise that.

What kind of broadband and what's your budget for the modem and the router?

I just ordered my 1st ever computer, an HP dv6500t, with the Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 4965AGN option.
I have spent about an hour reading various threads, and am still unsure what I need and what will work.
I have cable internet service. I believe it's 10 meg.
I can purchase the broadband modem from the provider for $50. Should I do this or look elsewhere? I would like to spend around/up to $100 for the router. I want something easy to set-up and something that will last. My apartment is small, so range shouldn't be an issue.
Anything else you can recommend would be appreciated.

Buy a router that will support dd-wrt firmware. You will find it more stable than what the mfg are using. Buffalo makes a good one. But if you want 11n, you should consider a dual band. But if your NB does not support it, it's a mute problem.

So, a dual-band, that supports dd-wrt (???don't know what this is) firmware. Sounds simple. The one from Buffalo doesn't appear to be available, and it's ~$250! Do you know of any others? I see a D-Link DGL-4500.
