Any additional requirements? Is 802.11ac a must?
Cheap routers tend to be equipped with a 100mbps switch instead of a 1Gbps one as most people use them only to connect to Internet on wireless devices. Is that OK, or are wired devices also planned?

I would recommend a Linksys EA6350 or a TP Link Archer C5 (v1 would be better than v2 but I don't think you can still buy it).
Both have Gigabit ports and 802.11ac Wi-Fi although 2 stream only. Both cost some $70 which is very reasonable.
Both have USB ports although Linksys has USB3 and TP-Link USB2.
Both are also based on similar Broadcom hardware and paired with 128MB RAM.

    The order would be:

    1. TP-Link Archer C5 v1 (If you can get it - it's really an Archer c7 with locked third Wi-Fi stream in firmware)
    2. Linksys EA6350
    3. TP-Link Archer C5 v2

I'd recommend an Asus router, particularly the RT-AC68U, that should be plenty and its relatively cheap nowadays!

I agree that Asus RT-AC68U is a very good router but it costs between $150 and $200 which is rather expensive.

The Linksyis was like 130, nor cheap either.. I do agree, the Asus seems to be going for pretty steep but its always worth looking around on eBay etc... Or even at the higher end models as sometimes on sale, they might be cheaper...

I remember Ethrem saying that the T Mobile Wi-Fi extender or signal booster is actually this router and you can get it for $99 from the T Mobile Store so that is a good price.. Don't have to tell them that your using it as a router when buying though

    It's the T-Mobile cellspot.
I got.mine off of eBay for $80. He got it a bit cheaper I think.
I got mine new and flashed it over to the retail firmware and then to merlin. Working flawlessly for over a year now.
