    hi all!

my friends and i love to play cs 1.6 on lan, for once we tried to connect through the internet, but non of us can connect to the same server. We were able to connect to a public server together, but for example, i create a game for them to join, they were not able to join...they dont see my game on internet server list. i tried giving them my ip address which i got by going to www.whatismyipaddress.com but does not work either.

    is my ip address wrong??
is there another ip address i need to give them?

Your IP address is likely correct, but I suspect you're running though some kind of router.

You'll need to forward the UDP ports needed to the IP address of your machine on your network. (normally 10.0.0.X or 192.168.X.X).

There are some setup instructions for a fair number of routers here:
    http://portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/CS/CSindex.htm

It looks like you'll need to forward TCP ports 27030-27039 and UDP ports 1200,27000-27015. As a last resort you can configure your machine as the DMZ (demilitarized zone) in the router which forwards ALL internet traffic to your computer, but keep in mind this is highly hazardous.

You also need to verify that those ports are open in the Windows Firewall, if you have it enabled.
