I have had a 5100 and know there is a 5300 , but i cannot find any reviews or comment on the Intel 1000 bgn that i have in my new notebook.
Is it any good, when compared with the 5100 or 5300.
Thanks.

It is new. Dont think there are any reviews. Centrino 1000 is only 2.4ghz so more like a downgrade from the 5100. The new replacements for the 5300 are called Centrino 6300 and 6200
You can find technical specs here (Centrino 1000):

Manufacturers still make 5 Ghz N routers and wireless cards.
Its just that 5 GHz wireless N equipment usually carry a price premium. -

I was just looking at the netgear uk website and their wireless n router DGN2000 is only 2.4ghz no 5.0ghz.

Sometimes they dont write 2.4 and 5ghz but call it Dual Band. If it says dual band it will support both.
This one for example:

What is an Intel 1000 bgn, is it any good?
