Hi guys (i made a new post because i found out that the topic does not match / describe the problem exactly / well informed)

It was all good in WinXp when i decided to change into Win Vista Ultimate ...
When i try to surf around the net with either IE or Firefox, i am only able to go to few websites like , google.com , extrmeclocking.com , other forums , megagames , filefront.com , windows update ... but when i try to go on websites like , gmail.com , hotmail.com , ibm.com , dell.ca , microsoft.com , installing windows live .... It does NOT work !!! It's like it thinks that i am not connected to the internet!!! It takes forever to load and says page not found.

I am using a laptop , i tried both wireless and wired but still no chance. Only this laptop has problem , my others desktop works perfectly. This is really a weird problem ... Thank you for your time in advance. Hope to find a resolve. I tried to reformat but nothing changed...

MEII aka Vista is bad when it come to networking.

Check to see if you are getting valid network setting, run "ipconfig /all" and check your settings against one of your working pc's. Only the IP address (and MAC) should be different, every things else gateway, dns should be the same. Try pinging sites by using Ip and names (yahoo.com). This will test the gateway and dns server settings.

Try diabling IP6 in the port settings. Lower the MTU, normally found in adv, better off change the router to 1492. Try turning off the firewall, or load a 3rd part to take control from Vista.

IP6 is a port setting, get properties, then un-check the box.

The only number that bothers me is the DNS on the intel card. I feel it should have a different ip address than the gateway address.

Maybe someone who is using Vista will confirm what is going on.
