Do you have to use frontpage? Microsoft does not even use it anymore (gone to Expression).

You need to find a webhost, the webhost needs to have windows servers, the server has to support frontpage extensions.

Then you set up frontpage with the appropriate settings and hit publish.

You should know that a windows server with frontpage extensions will likely be more costly than a standard web package running on linux.

Your host will generally be able to handle your domain registration for you; some even offer a free domain with a host package.

    Uhm, no.

You contact a webhost, purchase space, and upload the files using either their file manager or ftp.

    Different hosts have different methods.

For example, lunarpages will sell you a webhost plan for $4.95 a month if you purchase a 60 month plan--slightly more if you sign up for one or two years. For that account, they will include the domain.

They will give you an ftp account so you can upload your files into your server space and boom you are up (provided your home page is names index.htm

or if you are interested, you can learn to host them yourself and buy a domain later on ;)

When I have uploaded websites before, creating on frontpage or dreamweaver, save the files into your folder locations, then just upload it all to the web-space you has purchased, using an ftp client (coreftp or smartftp), both seem to work quite well.

After purchasing the web-space the company should issue you with some details, that you input into the ftp client. Connect on the FTP client, transfer the files across, finished. Just buy a domain name and you give them a link to the website on the internet, you can then just go to your website by the domain name purchased.

Does Frontpage have an inbuilt FTP? I know Dreamweaver does, I upload directly.
