I've been googling for an answer to my problem and have found bits and pieces, just trying to confirm my conclusions.
I have a laptop on which I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64. I want to use the laptop as a media center.
I do not want to leave it on all the time and want to put it to sleep.
I saw the dinovo mini and thought that it would be a very cool way to control the media center. It works great in that aspect.
I set it up to put my laptop to sleep and that works great. However when i attempt to wake the pc up from sleep via the dinovo mini, it does not work. I have verified that my network adapter, and both the keyboard and mouse are set to allow the pc to wake from sleep.
Below are my setting from my ACPI Sleep Button and the Logitech HID-Compliant devices, from Control Panel, Devices - Details of each device.
If' i'm reading it right, it means that the dinovo mini will not support wake from d-3 state? Is my conclusion correct?
Thanks,
Akash

You need to look for a "Wake on USB" option in the laptop's BIOS (and even if you have that, success isn't guaranteed with wireless keyboards, from what I've read).
If that option isn't there, check the laptop's manual if there's a specific USB port you're supposed to plug an external mouse or keyboard into. Wakeup requires standby power to be turned on, and not all USB ports may be powered in sleep mode to save energy.
Wake on LAN is something entirely different (requires a special wakeup message sent from another computer directly to the target computer's NIC via ethernet).
