The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    WWAN antenna question

    Hi everyone!

    I just received a new LCD back cover for a project that I'm working on. While I was preparing the cover, I removed the antenna's and noticed something about the WWAN antenna. If you look at the attached pics, three of the antenna's go to a regular fractal antenna like most laptops/ However, the forth antenna is a strange thin rectangular piece:

    Does anyone have any information on this antenna? Not necessary for my project, just curious.
