    Howdy!

I have a toshiba u300 laptop with an extra mini-pci express slot, it seems theoreticly possible for me to install an evdo WWAN card in it but there are no preinstalled antennas for this purpose. i think i would have no problem installing a set of antennas behind the screen and running the cables next to the existing wifi set. I can easily find a generic set of wifi antennas, but am i correct in understanding that i need to have a different form of antenna to get the best reception for wwan? and if thats true where can i get my hands on a pair? anyone else trying to do this?

as far as the card goes i was just going to use the dell wireless 5720 right from there website...

Not entirely sure about the wires. I have a Dell M1330 and the wires are preinstalled. I have been using the VZW ExpressCard but decided to go internal. I was going to get the Dell 5720 but it is like $150 (ebay is around $40-50, look for MN624 for Verizon & XM359 for Sprint).

I heard a lot of negatives about the Dell version of the connection manager, so I ended up getting a VZW USB720 off eBay for $60, this USB module has a Novatel MiniPCI inside. I just finished installing that in my 1330 and so far it's working fine. Once I used the VZW Connection Manager to initilaize & activate the card, I setup a dialup connection to access the card, no longer need to rely on the VZW software.
