    SO,
I'm I have a wrt54g-tm flashed with dd-wrt 24sp2 that's been repeating my neighbor's wifi for a couple years (with his permission)(no, really. he streams my music and vids in exchange for internet access).
Recently, we both moved our wifi equipment around, and now my link to his fios, sucks.

So, I want to build a Dishnetwork Biquad mount my router to it and put it in better spot.
The router has 2 antennas, and one of them (the dish/biquad) is going to be purposed only for connecting to the other network. My question is this:

do I need to worry about interference from the other omni antenna?
I plan on doing something like this, but with a colinier or waveguide antenna mounted a few feet away for my side of the network. DO I need to use a BA groundplane behind the omni, or something?

I doubt that would cause any serious interference to the dish. It seems more likely that it would affect omni.

I don't think that's a threat that should stop you from starting your project though. Worst case scenario is that you'd need to buy an omni antenna similar to this one and place it couple of feet apart from the router and dish.

i was goin for something like the attached, so I can just run power out.

Dish on the wall pointed at the neighbors house, router mounted on the back of the dish, and a (16db) waveguide antenna (as the omni) dangling below....

    That makes sense.
I assume the router will be inside though...

    locking tupperwear or similar....
that way i only have to worry about 1 wirepenetration (power) and keep the antenna wire signal loss/cost down, too

There was an episode of scrapheap challenge where one team waterproofed their car's engine with locking tupperware and silicone compound and it worked a dream for them, running through a muddy off-road course.
