I'm attempting to make my home wireless network more secure with a wpa 2 personal security mode. Is the WPA shared key just a random password of my choice or do I need to use a key generator program or site like this

    http://www.yellowpipe.com/yis/tools/WPA_key/generator.php

So long as the router ip site and the computers on the network have the same key, everything should be fine, right?

    Thanks in advance.

Your key is whatever you want it to be.

A few hints, to make them far less crackable....

Do not use words as they are written in a dictionary. Throw in a random number somewhere (ie; diction9ary). Throw in random caps too. Another great password will have multiple (two is fine) words in it, with both of the above added in (ie; paSSwordisHa3rd ).

You can make it as easy or hard as you'd like, but just remember, I can crack an ordinary dictionary word WPA password in about 15 minutes.

Go to www.grc.com and use their generator, all printable chr. You need a min of 20 chr to make it less crackable.

Honestly, I don't think it's worth it to use such a KeyGen for your WiFi. I'd just use the advice Modly gave, but then again no one ever intruded my network before so...I may just be naive.
