    hi i have sony viao it had faulty hardrive so i replaced it and reinstalled vista .
    replaced all drivers vga , sound etc no prob. but in device manager there is no wireless network card showing to prompt ink its a driver issue but there is no exe in the wireless driver from sony to install . the light on the front panel switch is out also. any ideas guys .

    Does it show and exclamation mark in the Device Manager for an Unknown Device?

    Download the drivers and install them. It will be under "Other Devices" until you do that

    i finally got it sorted
    thanks h.a.l i figured from what you said that the unknown ethernet controller. was it. u updated the driver and SUCCESS
