Recently had ISP problem that interrupted all connectivity. Called ISP, they checked my IP address and said it was that of a router, not a modem. Since my wireless modem is in line AFTER the modem, I insisted they were wrong. They set up appt for service.
Next day, connectivity was restored. Apparently the issue was not on my end. So the service visit was cancelled.
Now, while I have wired connectivity via my PC, I have no internet connectivity via the wireless modem.
Wireless works, as my laptop can detect a signal, but no internet. When I connect modem to wireless router to PC, I lose PC internet connectivity.
The only connectivity I have is directly from modem to PC. No traffic passes thru router. Modem to router to PC yields nothing. Switched cables, powered off/on modem, router, no change.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Richard

Try resetting your router and powering it off/on.

Call your ISP and tell them you have a router installed. Give them the router's MAC address. They'll add it to their systems, and then you will be back in business. Or, you can connect your computer to the router and copy your computer's MAC address to the router (it's called MAC cloning). Once you clone your computer's MAC address to the router, your ISP will think your computer is connected to the modem and everything will work again.

Thank you, O great Notebook Diety, your suggestion was the remedy to my situation. I am eternally grateful.
