Installing the 633ANHMW, Intel Ultimate-N 6300, into the WAN slot of a Dell Vostro 1700.

I expected this upgrade to be a simple part switch. I bought the Intel 633ANHMW and a half to full size PCI bracket adapter. However, the three posts for the antennas were now ~2cm further away from their previous position. This caused the antenna cables to be too short because the half-size card replaces an OEM full-size PCI card.

After much pulling and massaging the cables to get the most length possible, i was still about 5mm too short.

Therefore, I snipped off the piece of plastic below the power button cover, to the right of where the cables come out, which was designed to hold down the cables. I also removed some black tape on the cables, which allowed me to rearrange them to give the white, black, and grey wires the most direct path. With all of this, it was VERY close. The cables barely snapped on. I'm hoping there won't be a problem over time (I just put it in).

The software looks great, both the driver and the My WiFi program.
