I have a RT31P2 (linksys) from vonage for my phone. It has auto QoS, so i am supposed to leave that first after the modem.

When i connect my Pre-N router first, and put the vonage router second (connected through the Pre-N), the call quality is horrible. so I left the vonage router first after the modem and i am trying to hook up the Pre-N router through it. the only problem, is that no matter what, wireless in my house is horrible. ( i am on the floor abouve the router, no more then 15'). i am wondering if anyone knows an easy way to configure this.

also, i am thinking of running a cat5e cable outside my house to my room to a switch, then have the computers (1 desktop + 2 laptops) connect through cat5e. the question here, is do i really need the switch, or can i just run the wire to the Pre-N router--from the vonage router-- (i would move the Pre_n router to my room), then connect the computers to the pre-n router?

sorry if this is unclear, it makes sense in my head..or maybe its the voices..who knows

i have the cable and the cat5e connectors all ready.

now i am thinking of running the wire to my room, to a switch. from the switch everything will be wired. also the pre-n router will be connected to the switch for the occassions i need wireless. how does this setup sound? also, would it be better to use the wireless router as an access point?
