    Hi!

I just bought an ASUS W3V with WinXP Pro SP2, and an Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG card and I'm having trouble using Voice/Video chat and Online gaming.

I usually use a Linksys WRT54G Router which doesn't cause me any problems... but I moved and am now using a GigaFast (WF719-CAPR) Wireless-G Broadband Router 802.11b/g. My wireless internet is protected by WPA-TKIP.

On the box of the router it says:

    - One 10/100M Auto-Negotiation WAN RJ-45 port. Fout 10/100M Auto-Negotiation LAN RJ-45 ports.
    - Up to 54mbps data transfer rate
    - supports auto MDI/MDIX
    - provides 64/128bit WEP data encryption
    - Provides WPA and WPA2
    - Built in NAT and DHCP server supporting static ip address distributing

Anyways... I'm using Skype to do Voice chat and it works for a minute or two.. but then the person I'm talking to says my voice gets "robotic" and then just disconnects and they can't hear me.

When I look at my connection strength it goes from 54mbps to 36mbps to 24bmps to 1mbps... then I think disconnects quickly then reconnects and tells me my wireless connection is connected with excellent strength.

Since I'm using an ASUS W3V I am unable to update my wireless drivers from version 9.0.1.9 to the new version 10.?.?.?

I tried "updating" the IntelPROset utility but it still does not work...

My friend has a Compaq V2000 and it has an AMD wireless card I believe and it works perfectly fine with everything.

Guys, I'm running out of ideas here  :( :(

Any ideas/help/solutions would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks!!

Awesome the solution on that thread worked!!!!

I can now hold audio conversations!

However, I tried video and it was a bit laggy and disconnected a few times...

I really hope Intel/Asus fix this completely!!!!

Okay it seems that the fix didn't completely solve my problem... I'm still having connection issues :( however voice chat does work better...

I just can't understand HOW or WHY Intel, who are such a reputable (at least in my mind) company, and their wireless cards are sub-par???

Anyone have suggestions?? I'm thinking I might email ASUS about making the new drivers compatible with my laptop.... but would the new drivers fix anything??
