I just received my new laptop that has Vista Ultimate 32 bit installed.

I have a home wireless network at home. I have two other laptops running on XP PRO.

All of these laptops including my new Vista all belong to the workgroup on my wirless network at home.

I have an HP 1022n printer attached to my linksys router. The XP laptops can print with no problem within the network "wirelessly".

My new vista laptop cannot wirelessly. It can when it is attached to the printer via USB.

I downloaded the latest VISTA 32 bit print driver for this printer from HP's website. Still no success trying to print wirelessly. Only via USB.

I have tried various methods with no success.

Whenever I print a test page after adding the printer to my laptop, the test document sits in my print queue with an error. Where do I find the specifics of this error?

thanks for any help in advance!!

What steps did you take to add the printer?

    What does the error say?

Do you know the IP Address of the printer?

    Edit:

Is File and Printer Sharing enabled on the .Vista machine?

Is the Print Spooler service started?

How do I determine the IP address of the printer?

The printer is connected to my router.

Log in to the router's config. page to see what IP address it's using. Or, seeing that you say u can print from the other XP machines, go to one of them; go to Control Panel-->Printers...right click on the printer and choose Properties then click the Ports tab. Then in the list you will see the port that's checked and the IP address of the printer would be there.

So when you get the IP address go to the .Vista machine's Printers folder, select "Add Printer", click next on "Add Local Printer...." choose to create a new port then choose Standard TCP/IP and enter the Printer's IP address. You will need to choose "Have Disc" or something like that to install the drivers from. If you downloaded the drivers, extract them somewhere on the computer then point to it when you choose have disc to install the drivers.

Good Luck...any speed bumps along the way, post.
