Connecting a new dv6231eu to my wireless network has been a pain...
The only way it worked was to start the wizard through IE7 (tools>connections>setup) and now it thinks its connected to two wireless networks. Both have the same (correct) SSID, one is private the other is public.

How do i get it to be recognised as one network? Has anyone else seen this?

This has only happened on this machine I have 2 other HP laptops that I did clean (x64) vista installs on and they connected normally without a problem.

    Thanks in advance, Ian

You can bridge the connections together. Go to Control Panel, Network and Sharing, then click on Customize under the Earth picture. At the bottom of the Set Network Location screen you will see a security icon that says Merge or Delete Network Locations. You can either merge them or delete the one that you don't use by clicking on the Network Location and making your selection.

For some reasons i also have a problem similar to that. For example, i connect to NetworkA (SSID) , i shut down, turn it on a minute later and the access point name turned to NetworkA2 (SSID). Well, as long as i get my internet connectivity.
