    This is odd..

In Network & Sharing Centre, it is stated that i am Not Connected. It says that 'Wireless Networks are Available. Connect to a Network'. There is no network map either.

However, I am currently connected to the network and the internet in reality, as can be seen that i am posting this right this moment on the same laptop.

When i did a Diagnose and Repair, there appears to be a problem, saying that Windows has confirmed that this computer is currently experiencing a network connectivity problem. Apparently, this problem cannot be solved automatically.

    this is the problem...

this happened after i tried to connect to a LAN point using a LAN wire. And i know that the network is working fine because the network shows fine in another laptop in the same network.

i posted a screen shot. Anybody have any ideas?

Can we get some specifics about your PC, wireless card, etc? Could be a driver issue. Do you have any unidentified hardware in Device Manager?

I am not sure about the one i was using previously, because i was in school, using the school network. At home, my brother did not set an encryption method for the home router. At home, it is basically an open connection.

When I was in school. A similar notebook, with the same wireless hardware and settings, was able to 'see' the network, and display the network map.

so can mine before i tried to use wired lan. the error came up after i first trieed to connect via lan wire through an access point. Previously, i was able to see the network map, and the mouse over tab at the notification bar showed all the correct details..but now it does not, instead displaying the 'not connected'...

i am at home, using wireless now, still having a connection, but network sharing centre isnt displaying it correctly..

Ok I think you described two stories to me. Does it tell you if you're connected to a network when you are wired or wireless or neither?

neither..when i have my wireless adapter on, i am connected to the network (i.e. i can access internet...), but network sharing centre says Not Connected.

When i off my wireless and connect via wired lan, i am connected..i.e. i can access local area files and PCs and internet. Still network sharing centre says Not Connected.
