I'm not going to lie, I'll be shocked if anyone can solve this for me.

I'm running Virtual PC on my Dell notebook and I'm using my Sprint PCS phone connected via USB cable for my internet connection. The connection works through a connection software d/l-ed from Sprint.

Now, here's the deal. If I'm plugged into an ethernet cable the Virtual PC is able to use that network connection just fine. When it's the phone it doesn't for some reason. AND since Virtual PC can't use USB I can't make the connection directly within the Virtual PC.

I tried "shared networking" but some sites/applications have a problem with it (perhaps because of the dynamic IP?).

So.. any ideas on where to go from here?

Maybe that answers your own question.

What are you running on your VC?

Da*n near anything runs using the Ethernet cable direct. You need something, program or driver to route bandwith to your VC. Almost like a Virtual Router lol.

If you find the anwser let me know too :)

So your saying you DON'T have your phone working in virtual pc yet? Does virtual pc let windows control the usb port as if it were its own? ie install the phone driver and such.

I never tried from virtual pc.

You just gave me something to look up on.

But what is it your running on VC? OS?

I think you should somehow be able to set up the proper COM and Network settings.

I'm running Windows MCE on Microsoft Virtual PC.

According to Microsoft the Virtual won't use the USB ports at all.

So... yeah.. I tried sharing all the network cards etc, but nothing is working. Like I said, if I check "share network connection" then I sort of get internet, but a lot of sites/applications won't use it.
