Anyone in here clock any time with Verizon's One (5.8 Cordless phone, DSL modem & 802.11g router combo) and Verizon's Iobi service with their laptops? Verizon is shipping me this unit in an effort to smooth over some billing and service errors on their part,... it's on it's way now. I'm also considering their Iobi service. Just want's to hear from others having clocked some time with this Verizon equipment/servic.

Ah C'mon. Somebody out there must be running their laptop through Verizon's Verizon One Combo phone and their Iobi service. Got a few questions on best mix of line service with these two pieces. Don't want to duplicate things or over pay. Example,... can I cancel caller ID from my line service with Iobi in place? Based on what I've been reading I should be able to, but not sure. Same with Voice Mail on the line service. No need in paying for that if it's duplicated in Iobi. Can't get a straight or consistent answer from Verizon. Thanks

nope, haven't tried it. Waste of money in my opinion ($8 bucks of month is better spent to upgrade to a 3Megabit DSL connection).

I have Verizon DSL ( 3360 KBits/Sec Down 864 KBits/Sec Up)with the Westell 2200 Modem directly hooked up to Gigabit Ethernet switch, and in my room, I have a 100 Megabit Hub which also plugs into the Gigabit switch, and downstairs half a dozen computers for the rest of the family. I love having a nice secured line connection to an Internet service at home...

That's not to say I don't like to use wireless with my laptop.
Wireless is very convenient in the library, in school, in McDonalds, etc. etc.

If somebody gave me a free access point, I'd sell it on eBay.
