Well ok because of where i live and the available dsl providers i think i am going to get the verizon wireless pcmcia 5740 card and it will give me broadband-like speeds on my laptop where ever i have signal...but the question is is that can i share the internet that i am receiveing on my laptop with another computer in my house??...I am thinking it would work like this... i connect to verizons internet with my pc card and then i would turn-on my wireless on my laptop (802.11 b/g)
and then with a 802.11g or b usb dongle for my desktop I could connect to my laptop with windows networking (more specifly internet connection sharing) and be able to surf the internet on the desktop? so, this seems possibile in theory but will it really work?

it would not work because verizon broadband is ev-do, not wifi, they're 2 completely different things. you can only use your laptop to connect to the internet. your desktop cannot share anything with your laptop. 802.11 is a standard for wifi only.

no he's saying that he wants to use the verizon card to connect to the internet, then the 802 to network his desktop and laptop together, and share the internet connection through that. If it is possible, you would need a router to connect the computers (the router doesn't have to connect to the internet, just between the computers)

it's possible, but a really poor solution.

unless you're only going to do light surfing and email, you should look for other options.

if you plan on DL'ing or gaming, you're going to be really disappointed.

I think you can share internet.. In your control panel. It cuts speeds by half I guess though.
