Ok, so I have always wondered this, would it be possible to use both wired and wireless connections at the same time in Windows XP, but with both connections being with different LANs?

You can connect both, but usually Wired will be default primary.

For what reason, to do what?

you can balance it out with metrics on the routes. its a bit complicated if your not too familiar with routing and metric costs.

if your looking at sharing files over your wired and use the wireless in XP I just put the IP into the address bar of my computer/explorer. forces the connection out the given interface in your routing table.

    example

    \\192.168.1.11
will put you to the shared folders on that network device. and all the traffic on that session will go over the wired connection.
