I got a new modem+router combo, the Motorola SURFboard Gateway SBG6580 DOCSIS 3.0 Wireless Cable Modem, for my house. Before I had an old Motorola modem rented from Comcast connected to the NETGEAR Wireless Router - N300 (WNR2000). In my basement there was a wireless access point, a Linksys (not sure what model, but it was a purple box with an antennae), connected to a Linksys bridge which was then connected to a computer. I wanted to know if I could use my old Netgear router to replace the Linksys in the basement as a wireless access point because it's newer. Can anybody help?
