I have a DD-WRT equipped router running in client bridge mode to my Xbox 360. Does anyone know if I can set it up to also connect to my laptops which are 10 feet away rather than connecting the laptops to the source router a few rooms away?

I believe you can boost transmitting power using DD-WRT, but you must be careful. If you over do it you may just fry your router. Typically a small increase would be fine (Try Googling your specific router model). It wouldn't hurt to attach a fan to your router either.

if you go to high you need to normally upgrade your ac adapter to a higher amp one

You can also get aftermarket antennas for many routers... that can seriously help your signal, even more so than boosting power.

Look up repeater bridge mode. I use it and it works great.
