I've been sorting out connecting my laptop to the internet at school, and they run it through a proxy that queries username and password. On IE, it only queries once per logon, but using Firefox, it asks every time I visit a new page.

I can get it to remember password, but having to hit enter once or twice per new page is a PITA... Anyone know how to fix it, or get it to enter the details automatically?

    Cheers.

Check out foxyproxy or switchproxy, although I haven't tried switchproxy lately and the latest reviews say it has some bugs. There are other addons for proxies, too.

Cheers, I'll give it a shot (on a side note, I tried the following, but no dice)

FoxyProxy appears to be for using proxies to get around censorship?

I just want firefox to stop asking me to provide authentication to my school's proxy server for every page object.

Or am I using it wrong?

Nah foxyproxy just lets you switch proxies, it can be used as a replacement for torbutton (which toggles privoxy on/off) so maybe that's what you're thinkin'. ;)

Edit: As a side effect tho it remembers passwords, which is why I recommended it... hehe.
