    Dear comrades,

I recently tried to upgrade my vaio ar41s with the intel 4965agn card, by taking out the original 3945abg card.

windows vista recognises the card just as network controller and i try to manually install the latest intel drivers for 4965agn but the device juts does not start as well as the wlan green led on the front staying off.

I have tried updating the inf of the chipset from the intel website but to no effect.

please please can anybody please help me as i really need the 802.11n capabilities to work.

    Please help.

    Thanks in advance.

Hmm...that is strange...did you uninstall the 3945 before changing it? Try plugging it in, in device manager right click - uninstall. then turn off pc, change card, boot, have the drivers for 4965 ready...should work fine.

Thanks for the advice, but I have tried your idea. But the problem still remains, any other ideas dear people.

My hopes rest on members of this great online community.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

By the way is the 4965agn compatible with 945 chipset.

Ive seen this problem before, and the fix I found was use the computer manufacturers modified drivers for the intitial setup of the wifi card (if there are any ), then run windows update and if Intel 4965agn update is offered , this worked for me on a HP, you will have to find out if the Vaio has a driver for it an their site.
