I have a Westell 327W and an HP Pavillion. I have full reception to an unsecure network. It won't let me connect and just gives me tips on poor connection, but thats not my problem at all. It shows up but doesn't let me connect. Please help and hurry it up cause my battery is only at 65% :)

Reset the router? Have you connected to it before?

Is the router sending a signal format that the other laptop can read?

Best bet is to reset the router. Then use the computer right next to it to see if there in fact is a signal.

There is a setting for lease time in the router. This is what will clear old connections out. You may have it set never to expire. Set it down to 1-4 hr. Then you will see a prompt tell you are connected every time it expires and renews. You can also expand the number of DHCP clients you can have too, under the basic lan setup.
