I recently bought a HP dv2416us notebook and I was wondering if I could change the wireless adapter inside the notebook to an intel 4965agn wifi adapter or some other compatible wireless n adapter.

I would have bought a laptop with wireless N built in but I have to work with what I have for now.
I know in the past HP has a bios restriction on which internal wifi adapters you can use in the laptops, is this still true today? or did they do away with that annoying feature.

Right now the laptop has abg wifi adapter, does the 4965agn adapter have different antennas than the older wifi adapters?

    Thanks in advance

Antennas are the same, question is how many. N uses three, so you may end up with reduced performance if you don't have three antennae in your laptop.

Would I be able to add another antenna? They are located behind the LCD correct?
