I have been using a Linksys WRT150N for years now (Its a '07 Model). It has done the job.

However I know the tech has been much improved since then, and I have been having problems streaming TV shows from my wireless laptop to my Xbox/Big Screen.

So Id like to upgrade wireless routers.

My laptop is 2 months old, a HP Envy 15" 3rd Gen. Intel 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, Intel Wireless Display.

I want a really good router to last afew years, but want to keep it medium range budget. Dont need to be cheapest, but not most expensive either.

    Thoughts?

What is mid-range budget though- $50 or $100?
High end routers alone are priced between $100 and $180 so you'll have to be more specific.
There are quite a few good ones in different price brackets so once you set the price limit finding something shouldn't be a problem.

Around $100 is what I mean, I dont want a cheapy $40 router, but Im not paying $200 for one either.

Best Bang for my buck, I want to stream HD videos from laptop to my Xbox mainly. I dont really do much that requires huge numbers as far as Internet goes, I game, but the current connection does fine with gaming

Netgear WNDR3700v2 for reasons stated so many times that you'll have to excuse me for not repeating them in detail once again.
To sum it up- good wireless (range and throughput), good hardware (RAM and CPU), good factory firmware, support for alternative firmwares. And it's reasonably priced for what used to be the best consumer router in the world some six months ago.
    Proper review is here.

    Just don't buy v3- it's entirely different.

EDIT: You beat me to the punch :D

Yes that's true but v1 also had an issue with Wi-Fi radios dying. It happened only to a relatively small batch of routers but the only way to guess if yours would be affected was to look at the serial number and compare to those that were reported dead.
For that reason I can't recommend one. Also new v1 units are not available anymore.
