    Hi,

I hope this problem is appropriate in this forum, and here goes. Today all of a sudden I am unable to access a particular working website on any computer on my home network, through my router. Also a software application that uses information based on this website is unable to work properly because it can't connect to the website. I have been accessing the website for months without a problem previously. I tried connecting to the website using a proxy server via vtunnel.com and it worked fine.

I am 99.9% certain the issue lies within my router.

Could anyone help me sort this out?

    [EDIT - RESOLVED]

I appreciate all the responses from the several posts below, they were very helpful. Following one piece of advice suggested below I flushed my DNS and it fixed the issue. I am able to access eveonline.com through my web browser and programs are able to reach the server now.

    Cheers!

    It's eveonline.com. When I perform a traceroute I get the following results:

    c:\>tracert eveonline.com
Unable to resolve target system name eveonline.com.

I don't know how to bypass my router to the modem because I am pretty sure my router is my modem as well.

^^^ Does eveonline require ports to be open to work properly; like steam? I have a firewall built into my verizon router/modem and once in a while I can not use steam unless I turn off the firewall or set up port forwarding again.
Are you able to turn off the firewall and try the site?
Not sure if this will help

    Hope this helps, Josea

Your PC can't seem to resolve the IP address of eveonline.com (which is 87.237.39.196). I would guess that something is blocking it.

    Try:
    ping 87.237.39.196

Also, try visiting http://87.237.39.196/ and see if it loads.

Also open the file c:\windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts in notepad and see if it has any lines with 87.237.39.196 or eveonline.com.

    Try flushing your DNS first.

    cmd > ipconfig /flushdns

If that doesnt work try change your DNS to OpenDNS or Google DNS (8.8.8.8)

That was the first thing I had tried and the website is up and running.

When I ping 87.237.39.196 I do receive 10 packets successfully, however when I type this IP address into a web browser, the name is resolved to eveonline.com and the I can't connect to the website.

After spending hours on end troubleshooting everything I could find and think of, including spending an hour on the phone with my ISP troubleshooting before eventually getting my issue escalated, flushing my DNS (ipconfig /flushdns) seems to be the charm that fixed my issue. After flushing my DNS I can successfully access eveonline.com and the applications that use it have no problem reaching the server now.

    Thank you!
