Ever since a week ago, trying to load the router settings page at 192.168.1.1 just gives me a blank page, not even a 404 error. The WRT54G (v8) provides internet access perfectly fine over ethernet or wifi, but i'd like to change the settings to allow my nintendo ds to connect.

    try 192.168.0.1

if that doesn't work, try reading the manual and or see if you can run the cd setup for the router again

if that doesn't work, try resetting the router..........

Try connecting when directly to the router hard-wired.

    that's not unusual

i don't know how or when, but somehow it sounds like the router setup became corrupt -->> may have happened if you were changing the router settings, etc, and they didn't complete the update.......

let us know if you have any more problems :)

Funnily enough, all of my settings are still there :D, so a quick tap is just a soft reset. I updated to firmware version 8.00.5 and copied down the WPA key. Unfortunately, Nintendo DSs don't do WPA. Oh well. I don't care if someone sniffs my Mario Kart packets at hotspots, but using WEP or nothing at home would be a big mistake

WEP is fine. I use it and im not worried. But houses are spread out by me and they are all old computer illiterate people...but you should be safe with WEP.

Use a older wireless router for your WEP, and keep you main router secure.
