    Hi,
I have a mini-PCI type IIIA wireless card (*not* mini-PCI express). Is there anyway I can connect it to my laptop without opening my laptop? Any adaptor/cable to connect this card to a USB slot or a PCMCIA slot?

    Thanks for your help.
    Thanks,

    maybe pcmcia.

if you actually have a mini PCI slot and your asking this question because you dont want to open up your notebook, then id rather not have replied.

building the type of adapter you are talking about is literally 100 times more complicated than installing a wifi card. there is probably one door, one screw on the bottom of your notebook for your mini-pci slot.

Thanks niffcreature. This is for a project where we don't want customers to open up their notebooks but we have done considerable work for a prototype soldering, tapping and wiring a mini-PCI card.

I was hoping for something like this
    MP1
but with a mini-PCI typeIIIA interface instead of the mini-PCI express.

I havent seen any MiniPCI to USB adapters around.

I think you are better off buying a USB wifi adapter.
