The title sort of says it all.

I have a speed│latency issue across my wireless network.

I have a central computer with several external drives connected, some via USB 2.0 and others by eSata. Those drives are shared for other computers on the network to access.

In the picture, when connected by WiFi 'N the DV6500 can "see" M570TU shared drives and can even browse the folders but when it comes time to copy a folder or file or stream A/V media, it either takes 5 minutes or more for a 400MB file or it times out. When connected by ethernet, it is much faster, that same 400MB file copies in 60 seconds or less.

The DV6500 can access the internet and get 10602KBs download (DSLReports) so I tend to think it is a local area network issue.

I have "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" on, as I have heard it should help
but so far, performance is unchanged.

    Any thoughts?

Which Dlink router? If not dual radio it needs to switch back-in forth in turn killing your speed. Smallnetbuiler.com test this type of performance, you way want to look at there results.

Are you sharing bandwidth both on 2.4 (11g) or is the 11n on 5ghz?

    Thanks for the reply.
The router is the DIR615 and I don't see any option for 5GHz on any band.
Just 2.4± small increases or decreases depending upon which frequency it is on between 1-11. This DIR615 has two antenna and is b/g/n capable so I am guessing it is not dual radio?? One antenna for send and one for receive making it ne for each band??

I am on that web site you suggested now but it has tons of data! It will take a while sifting through it

When you go use extenders you cut your bandwidth in 1/2 normally. Mainly because it has to work as a traffic cop, for send and rec from both directions. The reason I prefer using highgain antennas to boost signals vs repeaters.
