I have a wifi antenna plugged into the laptop with a USB cable. The cable came with the antenna, and is about 15 feet long. I was wondering if there are specifications on a data sheet somewhere, or you know offhand, how much the quality deteriorates of the wifi bandwidth based on the cord length?
I'd like to stick another USB cord unto the end of the USB wire coming off the antenna so I can stick the antenna on the roof, as it does not reach right now. I have a 20 foot USB extension cord I can use.
Is there an adapter perhaps to convert USB to pig connector cables? Or will the USB work?

This is what I use:
From here.
I'm considering buying this, but I already have a 20 ft. version of this.
So basically, I need to know:
1) what kind of loss to expect with the length of the USB;
2) whether I can use passive USB cord extension or do I need an active extension/repeater chip to buffer the signal. -
Stepping up the wireless stealing game? Haven't you already been told ITT that it's illegal in most countries?

Yep, and for that, he gets a two day ban.
If you have that much time to analyze signals and go through all the work to get a better signal, you surely have the time to find a way to earn extra money to get internet or gas money to go to a coffee shop, McDonalds, library etc to get wifi(worst case you pay for coffee).
Or heck, sell that AW in your sig. You don't need a whole lot of power to surf the web and all that graphic power is surely wasted when you can't even play online or use steam to download games.
