    URGENT! Problem With DHCP Connections after changing the DHCP Starting Address

    Ey guys, I was being stupid and changed the Starting Address field of the DHCP server from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.20 and all computers in the house using DHCP are unable to connect. I immediately reverted the settings back and even renewed and released the DHCP to no avail. I have a Linksys WRT54GL router FYI.

    How would I go about fixing this problem? Thanks in advance!

    Unplugging router from power and plugging back in was enough to fix.

    Almost all electronics go good after a nice "restart".

    Even us human beings, when we sleep/charge our batteries, we can DHCP Human relations a lot better :D

    Meh, even though it tends to work, that is a huge flaw in our technologies these days. The router was locked in a house mate's room, luckily the housemate happened to come back when the router was acting up, allowing us to unplug it.

    It happens...
    I have a linksys wrt54gc (the compact version)... and every once a while, I have to restart it...

    Most of my clients on the telco company I work on, tend to buy the mainstream wireless routers, and even the new models tend to need a 'periodic' restart...

    you're right, huge flaw.. :(!

    Well what your going to have to do is power cycle both the modem and the Linksys router from power for about 5 minutes. It is a shame that you mistakenly changed the Subnet on your DHCP server! lol. Also in addition to rule out anything else, make sure you do verify what the WAN IP address on the Linksys is and make sure it is a valid IP address! anything that seems public (78.132.x.x.) yadda yadda.

    P.S is your provider DSL or Cable?
