I have a s96j laptop. The wireless card is has is intel 3945abg(or something like that). I have a unstable wireless connection/often none once i restart/turn on the notebook on. Like half of the time the internet is ok, it pickes up quickly right away. But sometimes, I have to turn off the wireless of notebook and then turn back on one or more times. The router is netgear( u know that for 80bucks, with 7 internal antennas). My sisters notebook picks up the internet always, with no interuptions. Why is my laptop doing it? is there better drivers than stock drivers from the cd that come with the computer?
    Thanks
    Matas

    1. Check the Intel Proset Software settings
    2. Download new version of Intel Proset Software
    3. Upgrade router firmware

try upgrading the drivers. if that does not fix it, the wireless card is probably loose, you have to reseat it.

also, make sure you don't have both windows wireless and intel's proset software running at the same time. I believe if 1 is running it over-rides the other but it could be interfering.

but i cant find the older drivers that it does support. Today I was just using internet and it disconnected 2 times in like 2hours. Not for long for like 5minutes till the wireless start working again.

The intel preset firmware/software must be done in sequence. If you have 2 version newer than your, you must do both in sequence. Like a+b+c, you can not do a+c or a+c+b. Intel does not use a complete package, these are all updaters to the previous release.

Use system restore and backup if it is worst.
